this book was very good. once i got into the story i couldn’t put it down even if i tried to.

the sheer pain i felt for the two of them was there when i had to read what they went through. i cried myself to sleep and couldn’t put the book down when
they went searching for simba

one thing tho is that it felt overpacked at times and so overwhelming. there were lots of scenes together, some i would say that if they weren’t there it would’ve made it a bit better. it sort of overshadowed their relationship development. they met, and before anyone knew it they were together in the blink of an eye.

and this is purely me hating on the characters, not the author (cus i liked this book and the writing was good, i just despised some choices characters made)

her mom made me so angry. i understand moving on after a spouse loss is bound to happen sometime but her completely disappearing for whole nights, not caring about her daughter’s whereabouts is just not right. then she dry humps her bf in their living room where she could have seen (and she did), sits at the swing that hasn’t been used for years but then suddenly a new family is allowed to sit there, running off to her NEW bf when things get tough. she was just a shit parent for that in my opinion. not to mention simba. i wouldn’t be able to forgive her for that.

his dad is an asshole on a tall level. i hope he eats poop in the next books because he just doesn’t deserve any of his family members to be close to them. fûck him.

and then harper. i love that she was patient with trin and that she stayed after all went down, but when someone is yelling at you to shut your mouth, i would shut it. especially if they were in an intimate position. yes, leo should have told trin, but her just plainly putting it out there wasn’t right either. read the room

okay. now that i’m done hating on the characters i disliked, i hav esto say i will most definitely be reading the next two books.

Meh. Don’t read it if you have serious mental health conditions and discussions of grief, pills, suicide, suicidal behaviours, are your triggers.

First, I felt a little silly reading about an 18 and 19 yr. old falling in love.

Second. Holy toxicity batman, neither of them are good for one another!!

Third. What kind of 18 year old gets grounded???
