This is definitely the much-needed and highly anticipated extended epilogue to The Traitor Queen. I am so glad we have these 6 chapters to round out Aren and Lara's story -- I desperately wanted to see them happy (although the struggles of ruling and the fallout of the attack on Eranahl have persisting consequences). This epilogue / "novella" gives us a lot of closure, as well as sets the stage nicely for the continuation of the series with Keris and Zarrah!
P.S. You really don't have to have read The Inadequate Heir to read this, just a side note.

Well, at least that gave me some of the closure I was looking for at the end of The Traitor Queen…

I received this digital novella as an incentive when I preordered The Inadequate Heir. It's not bad, but it's not good either. I was curious about what happened to Lara and Aren after the ending of The Traitor Queen and well, my questions were more or less answered.
I just wished the author wasn't influenced by spicy BookTok. I know there was a content warning at the beginning of the novella but it's my preference and I would have preferred it more if the author didn't oversexualize this couple. They were fine the way they were in the first and second book! Otherwise, they're going to sound like Zarrah and Keris who can't seem to stop talking about their desire for each other.
