Angsty romantic suspense, this book was a slow burn romance they had a tendency to drag at parts for me. The premise of a hacker/private security overall bada$$ heroine was intriguing to me and I did like the two main characters but found Dominic to be a bit on the whiny side for me at times. The book did pick up both in action and steam toward two thirds of the way through and it was an overall interesting read. I have not read anything else by this author but would def I rely give her books another go!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received an ARC of this book and was so excited to read it.
A bit of a slow start but worth keeping going as a very good book. Loved the combination of romance with the twists of mob storyline which was full of dramatic moments.
Great character development both within the main character relationship but also with other characters and their backstory to make you feel very invested in them.
Worth reading when it's released. (21/6/22)

2nd in series but can be read as standalone.

This was a wonderful romantic suspense novel. Dominic was looking for the best way out of the lifestyle he was forced to live. Sylvie has always been lovely and brilliant, but it was revealed she had some scars as well. They helped the other realize that they are not defined by their family, their history, or the opinions of others, and that they can grow and improve.

I loved the open talk about Sylvie's inability to orgasm and Dominic's eagerness to help her, especially because many women have difficulties attaining orgasm with male partners.

Some of Dominic's abilities could have been introduced and developed on earlier in the novel, in my opinion. His final career decision was unexpected, and there was no sign that he had this interest/talent previously.

There was tension and ambiguity, which made the plot much more compelling. Overall, I'm liking the series so far and can't wait to read what's next.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
