I came to this book from the movie, and while I was hooked to the book's writing from the very beginning, there seemed to be some differences from the two media that had me disappointed at first. However, after finishing the book I found myself just as blown away and enamored by the novel as I am the movie! Lee's writing is a very direct style that i found very impactful for the story she was telling, that still left me room to interpret the characters on my own. At the end of the novel, I learned a different theme of tragedy from the one I always took from the movie, but it is a tragedy just as meaningful and moving that completely brought the whole message of the novel together for me. Overall, i very much recommend for new readers and fans of the movie!
