Informative, readable, but not sure how accessible it would be to total beginners (although most of my Greek and Roman mythology knowledge comes from Rick Riordan books). I used this book and my familiarity of its themes as practice for speed reading, a skill I'm trying to develop this year, so I can't really rate this book properly. A good refresher before I go back into reading the Heroes of Olympus series nonetheless

A book is very good indeed. I had nostalgic aura around me while reading the book as I had studied these mythologies in BA of English language and literature. The book touches upon briefly mainly all the Greek mythology and few notable mentions of the Roman mythology. It is a light reading book.

A lot of this was reiterated information for me. However, since it is a “101” book, I can’t bring myself to give this book a lower star rating. In addition, I feel like this is a good introduction book, and it would have been helpful if I wasn’t so familiar with these myths.

Another book used for references and research. I really enjoyed the variations on some of the stories i've heard.

I thought the order of topics was sometimes weird and I gotta admit I mostly skimmed the last 5-8 pages... however I did learn a lot and mythology is always intriguing to me and this book appealed to that.

Clear and simple, it spans Grecian to roman, though the transition is a little off. It doesn't explain the downfall of Grecian religion, just jumps from greek to roman at the fall of Troy. Not a lot of detail, but covers a large span of time and a broad sense of the religions.
