been wanting to read this collection of novellas since they came out, so i’m really glad i finally got around to it!

overall, they were a very fun read, but there were some issues that kept them from bagging a solid 5-star rating from me. sometimes the dialogue came across as flat-out cringey or juvenile. especially mara’s internal monologue. sadie and hannah weren’t so bad, but some of mara’s thought processes made it sound like she was 13 years old

Loathe to Love You consists of three novellas, connecting the stories of three females who have been best friends since grad school and are now engineers in three different fields.

If you enjoy contemporary romances with lots of loving, nicely matched couples and some scientific and STEM theories thrown in, you’ll enjoy Loathe to Love You.

Light and fun, and I love quick romances between heavy reads. Each story held my attention and flowed nicely!!

Ali Hazelwood has a very predictable writing style, you know exactly what you’re getting and they’re easy reads… but honestly I’m kind of bored now of the repetitiveness of her style. I know when I pick up one of her books I’m gonna get an extremely large man, an extremely small woman and they’re both gonna be obsessed with each other but neither wants to admit it. I feel like she’s not an author you can really find yourself buying over and over again as you know exactly what’s going to be in the book, I’d love to see her go in a bit of a different direction as she is a good writer it’s just got boring.

This was dragging so I’m putting it down which is a shame because normally I love Ali Hazelwood’s writing

Love how consistent Ali’s writing is for me, I enjoyed these three stories about three best friends finding love after getting their PhDs.

I’ve read these over the course of the past couple of years and enjoyed them all.
