This was quite a long book where nothing much happened. No major secrets were revealed, nothing major happened to any character, and nothing new was resolved besides things with Asa. Kind of a waste of a book in a series in my opinion.

I often found myself struggling to pick this up and finish reading it, I put it off for so long. The further the series goes on, the less enthusiastic I get about the books. They feel like a chore to read, and I honestly feel so lucky that I haven't bought the last two books yet, I can give myself a little break from them.
I admit, there were some good parts, but most of all I felt tired reading it...I didn't enjoy it much.

6/21/12 - I don't get why Uncle Patton thinks being out in the day time is worse than being out at night, in regards to lights. Wouldn't the fact that it's DARK outside mean, not only that there were more lights on outside, but that they'd draw his eye quicker? Anyway, I liked this one a bit better than the previous one, but this series is still a little annoying to me. Still, there's only 2 more, so I'm sure I'll finish it.
5/1/14 - Em placed out of the book level for this one, but the rest of the series is still good for AR, so I read it to her as bedtime reading. Not much to say.

The beginning of this series was a lot more action packed and it was a lot more entertaining. This book was interesting but it wasn’t as action packed and it made me have really low hopes for the last book so we will see what happens and how this series finishes.

I felt this book had a different take on Charlie’s story. It doesn’t seem like the others which isn’t a bad thing. I like that Lysander and Tancred are protested as regular boys—having girlfriends and what not. It makes the story seem more real. I’m curious to see how Dagbert and Manfred act in the next book and what happens to Billy—does he get his endowment back? I hope so! Also they changed narrators for this audiobook which threw me off a bit, but the new narrator wasn’t bad. I liked this book and am excited to read the next one!
