i did enjoy this book. i went into it completely blind so plot in the first half of the book had me shook. however, i HATE the miscommunication trope. Clara and Morgan were so frustrating at times. i really enjoyed Miller and his grandfathers dynamic

Let me first say that I, and others seem to agree, strongly believe that you should not know much about the plot going into this book, as it may ruin the experience of reading it for you. Due to this, this review will be completely spoiler free.

This is the first book I’ve read written by Colleen Hoover, and I can truly and honestly say I loved it! Regretting You is an emotional roller coaster of a story that you will not regret.

Regretting You is a dual romance told from the perspective of Morgan and Clara who also happen to be a mother and daughter. The mother and daughter’s stories are radically different from one another but weave together flawlessly.

Featuring a mother and daughter means that this book has a pretty big family aspect built into it – having my own family problems in life, this is usually something that turns me away – but these characters feel so real and are thrust into such real life situations that you can’t help to be drawn in.

Quite possibly my favorite thing about Regretting You is that you aren’t immediately thrust into conflict, instead you are eased into it and get a strong foundation for the characters before any major conflict begins. Hoover’s strong writing skills gives us a compelling story of grief, love, friendship, heartbreak, and family.

The real life lesson hidden between the pages teaches us to see what’s clearly in front of us and to be more open to new things and ideas.

Overall, I absolutely loved Regretting You and have gained a newfound respect and love for Colleen Hover and her writing style. I strongly encourage you to pick up Regretting You, it will not disappoint.

A solid 3.7 ⭐️. Spoilers ahead ⚠️.
If I had the time I would’ve 100% read this in one day instead of three. This book was so good. Tbh it’s not my favorite CoHo book… maybe because it’s more YA book, but still an enjoyable read. I really didn’t know what I was expecting when I first started reading it but the turn of events really had me shook.

I felt angry. Angry towards Chris and Jenny for what they did. Like Jenny, girl how are you going to have an affair with your sisters husband.
