Definitely my favourite read so far this year. I actually couldn't put this down - I was reading it walking even only for a few minutes because I didn't wanna stop reading.

This is somwehere between domestic fiction and a romance. In the first chapter, Morgan her sister and their boyfriends are going to a party where Morgan realises she's pregnant. Jump forward 16 years we follow the relationship between Morgan and her daughter Clara after Chris (Morgan's husband and Clara's father) dies.

There are beautiful descriptions of grief and living through that. And a lot of realistic misunderstandings. Honestly the characters felt so real and the raw pain they go through it a lot.

My main disappointment is that the letters are never read and we never truly know the truth about the early gut punches. Mostly because I want more information and I could never have given up the opportunity to know like Morgan did.
Do we really know that Chris was having an affair with Jenny? When did it start? Is Elija really Chris' biologically?! I need to know!!

Highly recommend. Honestly this has made me want to re-evaluate my recent 🌟 ratings because this is world's above anything else I've read recently.

I would describe this book as "fine", just fine.

As someone who typically enjoys Colleen Hoover's storytelling, this one felt predictable and lacked the emotion of her other stories. While I enjoyed the build up with Clara and Morgan, I felt like the climax hit and then just fizzled as we rushed towards the conclusion.

If you're a fan of Hoover's writing style, this still may be a book for you but I'll probably choose a few of her others over this one if I were to do a re-read.

One thing that would have changed my mind about this book? More Gramps! The true star of this story and we only saw him in small glimpses. A damn shame if you ask me!

Definitely my favorite colleen hoover book, it felt like such a betrayal like HER SISTER? I hate the miscommunication trope but in this case it works with a teenage daughter and a former teenage mother like cmon that’s so real
