A combination of short stories and flash fiction, written in a breezy style and usually with a twist or punchline at the end. They feel like stories you'd tell around a campfire where you try to get everyone's eyes to bug out with the final line. Not terribly deep but lots of fun.

Includes "Arena," which was the inspiration for that classic Star Trek episode where Kirk battles a lizard-man and invents gunpowder. The original story is more about how the human capacity for empathy gives us an advantage rather than "we're smarter than lizard-people and can blast them with a DIY gun!" but hey, what do you expect from Hollywood?
