A lot better than I expected.

I’m not familiar with the mafia/mob boss trope so the set up for the romance and the backdrop of the story were completely ridiculous to me. However, once I got used to it, the story is actually pretty decent.

I like that the story is about rebuilding/building a family and that the h explicitly works towards that. Instead of the book having no plot and that being a byproduct of the relationship. Even though the emotional connection of the H and h happens pretty quickly, it does develop organically and goes a bit more than surface level. Because of that, I don’t hate the characters.

My only major gripe is the h’s age and how often this is reiterated. Like way to play up the creep factor.

This book was nothing like I expected it to be when I started reading it. I feel like I’ve seen it getting so much hype that I had to try it out and as far as mafia books go, I feel like this one was kind of relaxed? Like nothing too crazy happened and it was mostly a happy relationship.

I liked it a lot and I definitely want to read more Cora Reilly books! I’m curious to see if her other mafia books are more intense.

LOVED THIS BOOK. I think mafia romance is my favourite so I really enjoyed this book. I thought I wouldn’t like Guilia at the start but she really grew on me and I loved hers and Cassios romance. It was amazing to watch the family grow.

A GREAT INTRODUCTION INTO THE MAFIA ROMANCE GENRE!! Cassio is such a sweetheart he is so pure for someone who is meant to be a mafia underboss. Cassio and guilias Romance is amazing the way. Daniel and Simona means so much to them and is a huge part of their love story. I’m not usually someone who enjoys children within a book to be such a huge aspect of a romance however The bond that Cassio and guilia get from their children has made me change my mind with this trope completely. The way Cassio was soo jealous and struggles with trust!! I can’t. Guilia js also just the best character I loved her she is such pure sunshine. My fav flower is also sunflowers and I just Love how strong willed she is and how she holds her own ground!! Such a boss bitch!! <3 also when she goes to talk to Luca it is just so powerful she is so confident and protects the people she loves at any costs

Audiobook Read
Read this in KU a few months ago but decided to listen to the audio and it was totally worth it. It made me like both main characters so much. I just have a soft spot for those single dads!

Cassio and Giulias' story absolutely tugged at heartstrings. It was just perfection.
