It took 50% of the book (literally exactly 50%) to pass before stuff started happening. It was cool to see the super old Italian vampires and their society (why this book is a 2 and not a 1), but what even is Bella thinking/doing during this whole book???? She only came “alive”/awake when some supernatural hottie was romantically interested in her (Get a life, Bella). I don’t buy Edward being back (what was he thinking during the entire book too??? His comeback speech was soooo weird) or Jacob’s whole refusing to be friends with her (I might have to be team Jacob tho). Bella should take as much advantage of her human life as she can, and, oh idk, go out into the sun while she still can and finish her education and stuff? This isn’t a good example for young women just ditching things that can set themselves up for success (Bella not even wanting to finish high school is pathetic). Sure, stay with Edward, but tie up the human loose ends first!! What about your parents???
Side note: Mike is so sexist. “Girls are cruel”???? How about you accept rejection, Mike?
Also the whole vote scene that happened at the end, that was just disturbing.
Tldr: I don’t want to keep reading this series, but I want to know what happens in the end. Wiki, here I come!

Extremely enjoyable read.
Even better if you have read or are familiar with:

My favourite from the series. I literally cried.. very ugly tears during the beginning portions of this novel when Edward leaves... I was beyond devastated. I really enjoyed Bella with Jacob in this novel.. their love and friendship really is what you want out of life.

I don’t understand why so many people don’t like this book compared to the first one. Maybe it’s because Edward left and was gone and Jacob was a little dumb to answer the phone like that. Otherwise, I really prefer her and Jacob’s relationship in this book so much better. When Edward does get introduced again, their relationship seems normal like they are having actual conversations with each other rather than just short little nothings that are mad awkward. This book over the first one
