3 out of 5.

There are some heart wrenching stories in here and some really fantastic data. But, the first 150 pages are just study after study and data to build a case that “compassion improves outcomes for patients.” (No shit? Really?) Maybe some people need to read the statistics but for me I almost quit reading. Thankfully I didn’t and managed to get to the gems in the second half of the book. If I could go back a month and talk to myself I’d probably say something like “holy shit!!! Am I going crazy? Are you me?” And then maybe I’d tell myself to skip the first 6 chapters. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
