The book was actually pretty good after you get past all the architecture. On the parts where Holmes comes into play the book gets so interesting! The mystery unwinds as they build the World Fair. Had to read it for AP English Language, and wasn't looking forward to it. The book was wonderful to read and a great crime read.

Too graphic and scary. Too real.

While I liked the book and learning about the history of Chicago, it took a long time to get through this book. It just couldn't hold my attention.

3.5 rounding up. Pretty dense read, but each storyline was interesting.

I really enjoyed this book! I like the way he writes. He obviously put a lot of time and effort into researching content for this book. It was slow in the beginning but gets way better!

I had to read this book for my summer reading in high school. I read part of it via audio book. I liked the narrator's voice. I really only enjoyed half of the book. The parts about the serial killer were interesting, but the parts about the fair being built were kind of boring to me.
