It was okay. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it like her other books. The characters were not as engaging as her other series. However, I listened to the audiobook, and I loved the narrator! She makes listening much more fun! I may continue with the series later, because I still love Carriger.

I love the humor and the familiar "faces" and names. It's always such a pleasure to enter into this "world". This has a somewhat more meandering pace plot-wise than usual but it felt good. This is a charming read with lovely, rich characters and wonderful bright humor. Plus, I'm impressed yet again with Moira Quick's narration and accent abilities. She may be added to my "favorite narrators" list.

enjoyed the book. Was interesting to see the next generation, though I will freely admit that I enjoyed the first series more. The beginning of the book felt a bit stilted but found its groove by the end.

Different indeed

**note: this book was won on a goodreads giveaway**

When I first started the book, I was a little confused but, then I got my scruples about me and what was occurring. It was an interesting read and kept me wondering the whole time. Which few books tend to do anymore. really enjoyed it!!

Another fun read in a fun universe. Although since the same narrator narrates the YA novels I kept expecting Safronia to show up. :)

- GOD I need to reread soulless (manga version) before I continue on any other part of the series
- I love Rue and Quesnel I think they have a good bantering chemistry
- I love Prim and Percy possibly even more, the cast work very well together
- I feel like the imperialistic aspect of the book is handled according to perspective
- Rue really grew on me, she is resourceful and observant
- it was fun, the language a bit detailed and fanciful, and it feel like the beginning of a series I would definitely enjoy
- the plot is a bit messy and complicated
- a solid steampunk novel, entertaining to read
