The second in the Tom Thorne series was a very enjoyable twist on the serial killer genre.
Thorne is an interesting lead who seems to barely contain his own rage as he deals with the victims of horrendous crimes and confronts the perpetrators.
The plotting was very good as Thorne is under pressure to navigate the clues to what at first blush seems to be unrelated but similar murders. Lots of red herrings, issues with authority , the press ,colleagues and personal demons- just what you want in a good crime procedural.
I enjoyed the internal issues within the police team and the villain was suitably troubling.
A cracking series and I'm looking forward to book 3.

A bit of a slow burner for me but I think this was one of his earlier books. Finished

This is the 2nd DI Thorne I’ve read & I’m still enjoying the character, with his no BS approach & unpredictable temper. A couple of good twists that throw you off too!
