- genre: traditional regency romance in the style of Jane Austen
- trope: E2L
- PG romance, no smut
- almost dnf, but it picked up around 50%
- challenging read if you are unfamiliar with old English, but it got easier as I read on
- felt a bit rushed at the ending but overall a well-written escape to Georgian London

An Intelligent But Pretty Serious Regency
D.G. Rampton manages to pull it off and does write a really good Regency romance although not perhaps as humorous as she claims. Artemesia has no idea that her father is not her biological father and that her mother was involved in a scandal before Artemesia was adopted by her uncle, the Duke of Wentworth and her mother moved to America. She also has a wicked tongue and doesn't look forward to having a Season in London. The Duke asks a lady to introduce Artemesia to the ton. Artemesia meets the lady's brother, Lord Chyzm and the battle begins. I liked this novel. Too bad the writer has written only two.
