This book is an old school romance with a stern H and bratty h. Guardian/ward dynamic with a huge age gap. Dubcon and kissing others (on both their parts). Anachronistic to the times and the H is a plantation owner.
I read this bc I re-read one of my favs My Only Love is the 2nd book in this duet, and had forgotten that this book existed.
At first I was like wtf. But I got into it with the mindset of reading a dark romance and reading it from that perspective made me really enjoy it.
