I found this an easy and interesting read. I like the little snippets of stories that build into a wider life. She has great way of writing and the topic - well! - sex work is great to read about. Especially when written by a woman. And not some armchair male author.

Less about sex, more hilarious anecdotes. I loved this book!

Really enjoyed the refreshing attitude and tone in which Belle wrote this book (/blog). I didn't particularly have high hopes for this read, but I found that I really enjoyed it and was always wanting to read more, I am even tempted to read the sequel.

Although after all of this praise, I did find the ending was very unresolved and somewhat trailed off.

Interesting book. I was enjoying the modern mills-and-boon-ish escapism from the beginning but the ending really annoyed me. Not only was nothing tied up, which I admit is okay if there is the intention of a sequel, I just felt like someone else was writing the entries. A book of two halves indeed.

After watching the television series, I was really looking forward to this book. Although I knew that it was quite different than the show, I was extremely disappointed. Especially, because there was a lot of praise around for the book.
But it is a conglomerate of scattered bits and pieces of what could be called a lifestyle.
Like a diary, you have an entry for each day. But the content that day can be literally anything. From what happened with a client (not necessarily that day), over what Belle had done when she was 16, to how nice a beach holiday can be.
You get to know about Belle's life, and her boy troubles, but it is hard to follow, because interesting story arcs get lost in the time-changing, focus-changing diary entries.
Overall, I didn't get sucked into Belle's life. I didn't feel for her or anything that happened. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything mesmerizing or too shocking, and on the middle and long run was rather bored.
Probably, I just read it a couple years too late. When it came out the first time, it might have been quite avantgarde.

How can a book be interesting and yet so repetitive and boring? That's this book. It's basically a book of lists.

After just having read the first volume of the diary Anais Nin I found Belle's short sticato senses infinately refreshing and enjoyable. I've seen season 1 of the tv series that eventuated from this book and therefore had some idea what to expect, still there were a few surprises in store for me. For example Belle's preoccupation and penchant for fisting. There were moments in this book that made me laugh out loud, a few that had me shuddering (let's just say unfiled nails and cervical walls) and others that had me slightly disturbed (one guy had a penis that had the most unusual design flaw). The brief blog entries were interesting and perfectly paced. Belle's writing is witty, to the point and always a little bit sardonic.
All in all I enjoyed delving into Belle's world and will more than likely be purchasing the Further Adventures of etc.

It was rather stupid of me to presume that such a book (a modern day blog-cum-book about a call girl) would even so much as make a gesture toward "empowering women". I won't be reading anything similar in a hurry. Bland, boring, tedious and utter trash.

Humanely intimate, not just sexually, genuine.
