It was very intriguing, but I don’t see myself picking up any of the other books. Like many YAs Avery felt like a very 2D character compared to everyone else. And the rest seemed like caricatures.

“Sometimes things that appear very different on the surface are actually exactly the same at their core.”

This was a pretty good book! I didn't like it as much as the Naturals series but the vibes were definitely there for this one. I really like all of the brothers. The ending and the twists that happened were also very crazy, and I'm excited to see what happens next!

I enjoyed it a lot!! I haven’t read a mystery in a while, and I actually didn’t even know that it was one hahaha, but it was very cute! And a very easy read/listen as well. I enjoyed the characters getting to know one another and I can’t wait for that to continue too! While I was able to guess some of the mysteries, it wasn’t all of them. And the bigger ones I didn’t know either. Very cute and very well written. Would definitely listen or read again, can’t wait to read the rest.

This was such a good introduction to this series and there was absolutely nothing I would change about it! Age 13+

“He left you the fortune, Avery, and all he left us is you.”

I wanted a change of genre and since it’s October, I ventured into mystery. This book is what the title says - an Inheritance Game. Avery is from the short end of the stick, meaning, her mom just died and now she lives with her step sister who’s getting beaten up by her boyfriend. Until she found out that she’s part of the billionaire Hawthorne’s will. The will dictates that she will inherit almost all if she is able to stay in their mansion for a year - together with the family who inherited almost nothing. We found out that this grandpa Hawthorne had laid out clues in order for the Hawthorne siblings to discover and uncover why Avery was included in the will.

It’s an interesting premise and a book I instantly devoured. I did not expect that there would be a side love triangle in the series too. To be honest, I’m kind of surprised Avery was attracted to Jameson, a drunkard who’s really confusing and is definitely hang up on his ex. But you do you girl. At some point, I just wanted to find out why she was included in the will and by the end, I did and it was a little anticlimactic for my taste. I still did enjoy the book though!
