I wasn't expecting a ghost story. Interesting premise and an easy read.  But even when I knew more I just couldn't get my head around the protagonist going to such lengths.

I’m very conflicted on how to feel about this.

Overall I get what the author was trying to say and do with this but it just didn’t go over well for me. The ending was great but what it took to get there is questionable at best.

It kept me intrigued and wanting to make it to end so I could figure out what was going on but I genuinely almost did write it off as a dnf a few times because it was pissing me off.

I liked this book a lot! Reasons for not giving it 5 stars: 1) The ending was a little weak and 2) I felt like a lot of the chapters became repetitive, like they overplayed the relationship between Leeds & “Layla.”

This book was such a joy to read. I was so hooked by the interview set up and the flashes back to the past. I was so confused and desperate to know just how Leeds ended up in such a crazy situation. I loved watching the pieces slot into place and the reveal towards the end of the book gave me goosebumps and made me cry a little.

I thought the writing was fantastic. It was atmospheric and detailed, and so gripping to read. The plot was phenomenal and I found it hard to put the book down. I thought everything came together perfectly and all the "this doesn't quite seem right" feelings were addressed.

Overall, I adored this book and I'd like to think that my soul would find my husband's soul too.
