This is also a very good book, I did not like it as much as the previous three but it is still really good.

I would have enjoyed this book a lot more if Rin had a personality

It’s not as good as the other 3 books in this series to me because nothing new about the world is really uncovered in this final installment. I continue to love the characters’ personalities, their friendships with one another, and the internal struggles going on for Rinna. However, the plot in this felt almost silly. I’m glad I reread it after many years because the second read did raise my opinion of it. It’s a good book that just does not live up to the others.

I read the first three books of this series so many times as a kid. I had no idea there was a 4th! It was so fun to see what the characters were doing later. Rin is a perfect young heroine, too, as she’s unsure of herself but still pushes to become a better version of herself.
I did think there was a lot of repetition in her internal conflict, but thought that it accurately displayed the struggle of being good and being lost as a 15 year old girl.

This was my favorite of all the Bayern books, maybe because I had 3 other books to get to know the characters. I'm sad to finish, these were so fun, but my favorite of Hale's books is still Book of a Thousand Days.

I read this book because I enjoyed the first three in the series. Several years have passed since I read them, do maybe my tastes have changed, but I didn't enjoy this book as much as I remember enjoying the others. This book is still an entertaining read, but I couldn't lose myself in it like before. Worth the effort if you've read the first three.

It had been a while since I'd read the previous three books, so it was a little confusing trying to remember who these characters were and why I should care about them.
