Read to third graders during reader's workshop. Used to reinforce writing complete sentences using part of the question in the answer.

I selected this book after seeing it on Travis Jonker's "Read Aloud Hall of Fame." I actually checked out the audiobook from Hoopla while reading the pages from another Hoopla checkout. The narrator was excellent. I could see how this could get a lot of audience participation!

The boys loved this book and giggled and giggled with this book. It was fun to read, I must admit.
These were originally Western African folktales and are told in the Caribbean. As per the book cover.

Mads (age 7) has discovered a love for trickster stories, and Anansi stories in particular, thanks to the Anansi series by Eric A. Kimmel and Janet Stevens. Janet Stevens’s illustrations are delightful, with one exception: I don’t particularly like her Anansi--he is neither incredibly spider-like, nor very expressive.

I thought this one was decent, but I gave it an extra star since my kids laughed their butts off when I read it aloud to them. (One question: Why are all of the animals "he"?)
