By far my favorite so far!
The quest/prophesy dynamic was awesome, and I loved the addition of the Hunters! Honestly, really close to a five-star read for me and I'm really excited for the next book now!

I finally meet the fan-favorite (according to my Tumblr for the past decade) Nico! A really fun book and a lot happens (maybe a little too much for my tastes now, but I have long aged out of this book's target demographic so who cares).

I wanted to read this series as I have seen it everywhere and I'm slightly disappointed in myself for not picking this up when I was much younger. However, as a 23-year-old reading Percy Jackson for the first time, I thoroughly enjoying this series, but this book felt like a filler.
This book still follows Percy Jackson, and he is the son of a Greek god, so one day he could find himself in combat with a half-lion, half-human. Especially when his best friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the quest to defeat the doomsday monster. Even worse, the Oracle has predicted that none of them will survive.
This book felt like a filler, I missed Grover and Annabeth, especially because both usually end up saving Percy yet this book it was the other way round. I think the thing I struggled with is the introduction of so many new characters and it felt like some of them were only here to move the story along and then when they the conflict was gone, they died. I wouldn’t mind the friendship group getting bigger, but it got bigger then smaller. Also, I'm getting sick of Luke – like if he’s going to die, can he just stay dead?
I love how the world is getting built with the action and you don’t feel left behind, and you know what’s going on, but the way Rick Riordan has a way of describing things in such a youthful, yet descriptive way is amazing. I would have liked to see more of Bianca and Nico and I felt like Nico was just pushed to the side and Bianca should have lasted a bit longer. The cliffhanger left you wanting more, and you know that something big is about to happen.
