Brighton Walsh continues the Starlight Cove series with a delicious happily ever after for grumpy and seemingly buttoned up Aiden and free spirit Avery who was previously living in Havenbrook.

Aiden and Avery aren’t just hot and steamy together; their journey is an emotional one as well. They need to learn to trust and both start to heal from scars left behind by their fathers.
They are each other’s missing piece, the one that they didn’t know they were looking for.

Through the series Aiden has seemed to have it all together, so it was interesting to see the threads of his life starting to unravel. I love that he learnt to trust Avery and let her in, that he found a sense of freedom with her that he hadn’t had before.
Avery’s character arc was an interesting one. On the surface she comes from a loving and supportive single parent family, though her mother didn’t seem to reliably put her first. She found in Aiden the things that she didn’t realise she was missing; someone who would prioritise her and give her what she needed, she just had to ask.

The chemistry between these two was sizzling. They knew how to push each other’s buttons and how to meet their needs while providing the perfect balance for one another.

I loved how their story unfolded and that it was missing the usual sibling’s best friend angst, in fact Addison was trying valiantly to play matchmaker. There was fun and support with the rest of the McKenzie family and if Mabel has space in her new book club, sign me up!

I had been looking forward to this book for some time now and it did not disappoint!!! Aiden and Avery were everything I wanted and more. Aiden was the absolute perfect book boyfriend with an absolutely filthy mouth, and Avery was his perfect equal. I loved their story so much. The pacing, the writing, and the smut were all 5+ stars.
