This book is SO overrated in my opinion. 4.5 stars for what?? I did not enjoy this book. It was really boring reading an everyday-life of Rune and Poppy.
I just cannot accept the fact that they forgave each other so quickly after what they’d done towards each other. The horrible things he’d said? The way she just left him without saying anything? I know that they both had a valid reason but they did not have the building up of the relationship.
I do not wanna read what they do DURING their relationship, I couldn’t care less about that. I need the building up of the relationship. I need the BEFORE of the relationship.
Also him KISSING her WITHOUT her permission when she was 8 claiming her saying she was HIS and ONLY as if she was a THING?? I know she liked it, but what if she didn't? Since the guy did not have any type of telepathic power to KNOW if she'll like it or not??
Another thing I did not like was the fact that he called her Poppymin. SIR??? Please give her a proper nickname like love, babe or sweetheart. WHY would you settle with MY-Poppy??
Okay there were a few things I liked about this book. Like the way Poppy saw life, and was just so full of it. Their love towards each other and how they never gave up on each other no matter what. That was cute.
It took me so much to finish this book :((
Honestly I wish I just stayed curious and never read this book.

More like 2.5 stars. This was too much of a mix between A Walk to Remember and The Fault In Our Stars. It did have its moments of originality but it got ridiculously repetitive and cheesy. It got extremely cringy at times as well when I considered the age of these characters. I think a love sick 15 year old girl would eat this book up though.
Now, let’s talk about the that ending… WTF!? Seriously? You kill off the remaining character but don’t even tell us how? That just pissed me off.

I listened to this on Audible, so it took me forever to finish. I also watched a lot of TikTok videos spoilers, so i did not cry at the ending lol. This is very much YA, so no spice at all, which is fine, but it was tough for me to finish. Not gonna lie. Overall, it was a good book. I would say 3.5 for sure.

I typically stay away from tear jerkers, but I'm so happy I read this! I liked how it showed you how intense and all-consuming teenage love can be and how beautiful poppy's thoughts on death were. I did not like the epilogue, though. I did think that rune would never move on from poppy or fill his jar and i didn't want to him die an old man without finding love again but to pass only 10 years later just didn't feel right to me.

This book was sad and I guess sweet at times. But the dialogue was so corny and repetitive at times, I had to skip over their conversations. Also a grandma telling an 8 year old to collect a thousand boy kisses is obscene.
