Absolutely lovely book on the life of Claude Monet. The authors have taken us along with Linnea & Mr. Bloom, on a journey to Giverny
The whole book is written in a story format but there are tonnes of details like- a short biography of Claude Monet & his family, how we can reach Givery, details about the house, artworks, garden and the museums that hold the paintings. And the transitions between the story & the information are seamless. A brilliant read for children & adults alike.

When I was little (probably about the age of the girl in the book) I found the animated movie based on this book at the library. I swear I must have checked it out every time I was available. It sparked my own love of Monet and the Impressionist. The movie faded from my life but my love for Monet remained. Last Christmas my mom gifted me the original book and even found the old movie on DVD for me. I love them both just as much as when I was a little girl.

A lot of words for a picture book. But as picture book biography's of an artist goes, this was one of the better ones. First of all, it made it quite clear what was Monet's work and what was the illustrators. And it helps that Monet at least is someone's work I actually know. The framing device of the trip to France and the gardens really worked as well.

This is a great book for children in elementary school or adults who want to learn a little about Monet or the Impressionist work! It also helps explain his unusual family for the time.

A good mix of original illustrations with old and new photos. I enjoyed this but fell it has too much text to keep the average elementary student interested.

This children’s book is a delightful introduction to Monet and his paintings. The book is interspersed with illustrations and photographs. I would recommend especially to anyone with a child interested in art.

Linnea visits Claude Monet's garden. This book is text-heavy, so not suitable for a program or read-aloud. Could work as a complement to an art program because of the pictures of Monet's garden and reproductions of his art.
