If you liked Worm, I suggest giving it a try. Know there's a chance that what you liked in Worm won't be in Ward. In that case, stop whenever the story loses your interest.
Before reading it, I thought there wasn't anything more Wildbow could do for parahumans. After all, Worm was So Worm. But Ward proved me wrong, and I'm happy it did.

- Congrats nobody else has ever done it worse
- Okay, that's hyperbole, a lot of the strengths of Worm are still here. These are extremely convincingly written traumatised characters, who might end up stuck in your head
- But then you realise that the plots worked through like 4 potentially fine antagonists to wind to a conclusion that doesn't mean anything, that doesn't resolve any character flaws or really even arcs. It just like. Fizzles out and is done. And all the hard decisions we made along the way didn't really matter.
- Andd then he makes the last gay character he hasn't made a predator left a predator.
the neurodivergent little baby teenager. so, like, you know? - II can't say it's not worth reading. but the more you genuinely care about the characters or the previous work or like, the decent pacing of previous works, the more it'll exhaust you.
- ohh my god she's such a cop
Graphic: Body horror, Incest, Mental illness, Sexual assault, Medical trauma, and Lesbophobia
Moderate: Ableism and Abortion
Minor: Drug abuse
copaganda?? he still hates addicts. prisons are fine actually? Look this isn't less cwed by me by way of being at all lighter than other wildbow stuff, it's one of if not the darkest ones, but it's impossible to sum up. I don't think I could ever really prepare someone for what's in this book and I do not mean that flatteringlypizza_monarchy's review
