My first time reading this; I'm in awe that Baldwin could write so beautifully about such boring white people.

"They were not cursing for something they longed for and feared, they were joking about something they longed for and loved."
This story reminded me alot of the musical, RENT. The tragedies, the suffering, the death, but also love and light. Individual stories that all tie into each other very beautifully.
A true human tale of racial issues and homophobia in the 1960s, told through the lens of characters that love to be loved and loved to be hated.
This book was a very honest look into sexuality, love, loss, mental illness, race, and humanity.

Very great story about friends, honestly i’ve never held relationships like this so some of it went over my head. Only complaint is “Another Country” takes place 95% in America.
