Fast-paced story but it's written so well that you won't even question it. Left no room for questions regarding character backgrounds— it actually added a lot of intricate details, same could be applied when talking about the adventures itself. There's suspense that'll keep you hooked every next chapter which it great for a teenager like me lol. The characters are lovable if not bearable— rated it a 4.5 because it left me on a cliffhanger HAHAHAH so if you don't want that i recommend buying the series all together so you can continously read and finish it all.

it’s so fun to see how everything comes together in the end, especially since so much of the groundwork is laid here. 

i obviously enjoyed all of the percabeth moments but even more than that, i loved the depictions of the different gods we got in this story.

i wish a little more time was given to bianca’s death but at the same time since percy is the narrator & he wasn’t as close to her as someone like zoë (rip) was it makes sense.

Really fun read. Loved all the mythology and Grover cracks me up lol I knew everything that would happen before reading but I loved the way the plot developed

This was the first time I've re-read The Lightning Thief in over a decade and it still holds up. The non stop fast pace of the book mixed with the characters sass and wit just makes for a great read. For me this book accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do, so it will always be a 5🌟 read for me. Excited to continue on with the rest of the series.

i enjoyed reading this, ive been meaning to get to this series for years now so im glad im finally doing. I really liked this book but i think i would've enjoyed it a little bit better when i was younger as there are certain parts or dialog that are a little childish (not a bad thing, and the blame is on me for reading a children's book). 

Before reading i knew spoilers that a boy from the half blood camp was gonna turn on them and its unfortunate that luke is literally the only boy half blood we meet 😭(other than percy obviously), so pretty quickly i realized it was luke that betrays them. Knowing this didnt really impact the book to much but then i guess the ending couldve hit a little harder if i didnt know. 

Did not expect ares to be the big fight at the end was 100% expecting hades despite already guessing he didnt steal the bolt, just assumed they would still fight.

It was very fun reading about percy, annabeth, and grover interacting throughtout the trip, they were so cute.

also the entire book i imagined poseidon a certain way and then we finally meet him at the end and hes like the exact opposite of what i had in my head so im gonna ignore his physical description. 

anyway cant wait for the next one

I loved this book! It was humorous, action-packed, and ended well while leaving room for story expansion. You can tell the writing style was intended for children, but I loved it just the same.
