Audiobook: Limón has a lovely voice and even better performance of her work.
Also this may be purely just how my library or Libby formatted it but given what role titles can serve for poems, it was a bit annoying that the poem book was listed as vague numbered tracks per poem versus their actual titles.
There were a couple of poems that reminded me of other poets about deeply personal things that I also feel make little sense without the context of the posts personal life Especially since I am not the reader that assumes a poem is nonfiction or autobiographical inherently (here was about references the ex girlfriend of the husband which came up in a handful of poems and her cats). But those were interesting if confusing and I really liked the one about thinking maybe the late woman hated you out of anxiety real or imagined and then having her elderly cats you took in curl up in your lap.
Specific poems I really liked:
•the poem about how horses are born
•a new national anthem; this beginning really made me laugh
•the real reason she doesn’t have any tattoos
•Wonder Woman poem
•the raincoat poem
•poem about how most dreams go
I believe it’s in the Wonder Woman one, but the line about urgent care doctor saying well sometimes shit happens was so both very relatable and also very funny

For the first time in my life, I think I understand my mother. Ada Limón first got me with Bright dead things and this is yet another amazing book.
