I’ve been trying for 3 days to get into this book, and just couldn’t. Maybe it just isn’t my thing, but for some reason it was just...boring.

There is so much that I loved about this book I don't know where to start. For one, I loved 'People we Meet on Vacation' so I knew that I would probably love this, too. I ADORED it. For as much as I loved the other one, this one is my favorite of the two by far. There are so many things that happen in this book that make it so much more than "just" a romance. Like, the romance was absolutely fantastic, but then Miss Henry said but also watch this!!!!!

The growth that January goes through in this book while processing her grief is fucking incredible. I loved the concept of a 'happy for now' moment especially as someone who struggles to just take things for as they are and stop worrying about what they might become in the future.

Then there's the relationship. God, I loved Gus so much. And I loved these two together from start to finish. There's no real miscommunication trope in this book which I appreciated a lot. It's more of a...I-don't-want-to-overstep-but-also-I-love-this-person-but-maybe-they-don't-love-me-and-I-shouldn't-be-pushy type thing which I actually really liked. It gave the characters the space to grow and learn and figure their shit out and the relationship felt that much better for it.

I also loved the fact that they're both writers. Reading about their processes was really fun and I kept wondering if January's process was anything near Emily Henry's. It kind of made me want to GET BACK TO WRITING MY DAMN BOOK - anyway.

I cannot wait for Book Lovers. Emily Henry just became a must-buy author for me.
