This was a fun little book with descriptions and introductions of ten conspiracies from around the world. I was glad to be able to read and harken back to when you could have fun with conspiracy theories and thinking about "What if" without having to deal with the bleak hell that is 2020 and QAnon cultists. I also didn't know that we had lost the cornerstone to the White House, so that was cool. If you're already into conspiracy theories, this isn't the book for you. A little bit of extra info might be present, or pictures of primary documents might be new for you, but on the whole this is an introductory work for those who hadn't read or dealt too far down the rabbit hole yet.

Disclaimer: I received a free digital copy of this title from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Conspiracy theories are definitely interesting and juicy. Some are just plain insane and others make more sense. What if history didn't happen as we believe (or are told) it did?

Brad Meltzer chose the top 10 theories. I'd already watched every episode of The History Channel show decoded, so I was already familiar with most of these. Basically, I really enjoy reading about conspiracy theories and the "what ifs". It gets me thinking more. The evidence (classified) documents were cool to look at.

Recommended for history buffs, actually make that everyone.

Isn't it possible that this one star rating is actually just a small part of a higher rating?

Okay, time out. That sounds like quite a claim. But think about this...

Some people have even rated this book five stars. And consider this. If you take a 5, and rotate it it 180 degrees and squint your eyes, it looks just like a 2.

2+5=7, which is a number found in the Bible AND in Da Vinci's paintings.

Have you been paying attention?

It doesn't take a conspiracy theorist (which I am not) to see the connections here.

Fun book covering some of the greatest conspiracy theories. Covering mostly American topics, this is a cool book with pull out ephemera about each event. Would be a great present for a conspiracy nut.

I bought this book for my kids and decided to read it myself. This is not exactly a kid's book. It was very interesting, and I loved Meltzer's analysis of the Kennedy Assisnation. I would like to read more on these theories!

An interesting look at the top 10 conspiracy theories in US history (though truly controversial subjects such as 9/11 and Sandy Hook are given a wide berth) which includes everything from the true fate of John Wilkes Booth to the legend of DB Cooper, and finishes up, of course, with JFK. I learned a few things I didn't know before, even on the subjects I've read extensively about in the past.
