This book was really good! I enjoyed every second of it.
I rented this book on CD from the library only because there were a few books on CDs left, and James Patterson is a popular writer so I was hoping his book would be good! And it was.
The book turned out to be nothing that I expected. There was a huge crime that the wives were convicted for and you spend the whole book trying to figure out who did it. Also, there was some extreme action at the jail. I hope that the French government doesn't actually let that type (or any type) of abuse happen.
I normally don't like reading books that take place in Europe or have other languages mixed in the book, but with this book I didn't mind it at all and kind of enjoyed that aspect!

I suggest this book if you like mysteries :)

Reads like a high budget American action movie, which is not my type of book but it was still entertaining (although far-fetched sometimes)

Suuuuuuch a disappointment. Abbey was the worst, the plot was ridiculous, the action happened in the beginning and the end while the middle SUFFERED MISERABLY.
Bummed.

James Patterson has done it again. This time bringing us an amazing story of the strength of one woman's dedication to truth and justice. Abbie finds herself in a french prison, trying to keep her spirit amidst turmoil. Her story is fast-paced, scary, and fierce. I found a woman I can learn from in this book of trials, and that I wasn't expecting. 5 big stars for Mr. Patterson. Well done, sir.

"Something like this changes you,
it breaks you into pieces and puts you back together, but the sum total is different."

James Patterson, Guilty Wives

I finally decided to try my first James Patterson book! Guilty Wives by James Patterson is about 4 wives who go on an all girls vacation. They take a break from their normal lives to have some fun together. Unfortunately all of their fun ends when they are arrested for murder. Abbie is determined to prove she is not guilty and that she was set up for the murders.

I enjoyed Guilty Wives enough to rate it 4 stars. The last 100 pages really were exciting and made the book for me. I wasn't too invested until I got to the point where everything started to become clear. Patterson did a nice job of keeping the killer's identity a mystery until the end. It could have been several different people. I think I will give his books another go in the future, he has so many to choose from!

3.5. For a James Patterson novel, this took me way too long to read. I felt it only picked up until about the last 1/3 of the book and for that I am rounding down to a 3. Interesting premise, but I didn't love it.

Seemed unrealistic. It was an easy read that kept me busy.

A compelling page turner yes, but there were way too many chapters of torture and violence that didn't move the story forward. I think he needs to write less books then maybe what he does write would be better.
