Guess who just finished reading her first ever ARC!!! I truly couldnโ€™t have been sent a better book as my first!ย

Thank you so much @readwithli for allowing me to review this story and for sending it to me! ๐Ÿ’Ÿโ„๏ธโ˜•๏ธ

A Little Magic was absolutely incredible! From the second I opened this story, these characters had my entire heart.ย

The relationship between Ellie and Theo was the most adorable thing Iโ€™ve ever read, and I loved seeing them grow up with each other through the years.ย

I also really really appreciated the chronic illness representation as our main character has Lupus which is something you donโ€™t typically see in books, especially romance very often.

..

Ellie and Theo were inseparableโ€ฆ until 7 years ago when Ellie disappeared out of Theoโ€™s life. Since then, all the collegiate and NFL hockey champion has wanted us a second chance. When Ellie shows up unannounced on a work trip to Vermont, her hometown, all she wants is to get in and out undetected, but Theo is determined to get answers to 7 years worth of unanswered questions.ย

If you havenโ€™t read Lindseyโ€™s debut, โ€œSpeechlessโ€, go read that right now, and then come back and read this one too. This was such a cute second chance romance and will be a perfect winter/christmasy read! I love how the author can showcase chronic illnesses in such a way that brings attention not only to the illness itself, but how it affects the diagnosed individual as well.ย

Get ready for October 3rd cause this is what youโ€™re in for:

All the feels. ย I loved this second chance, force proximity romance. The chronic illness rep and Jewish rep was so authentic. ย Ellie and Theo have my heart. This book is like a warm hug.ย

What a cute romcom read.ย

Its about second chances and miscommunication but is wonderfully wholesome. The book is about Ellie and Theo two childhood sweethearts that lost their way but found one another again when a chance work encounter happened.ย

I really enjoyed this book, I am 100% in my Romance Era and this one definitely hit the spot. It had so many tropes as well that made my heart full and happy. It had second chance romance, childhood sweethearts, one bed and there was a great disability rep with the main female character having Lupus.ย

The book is dual POV as well as Dual timeline which made me enjoy the book that much more. I was able to get to know the characters better and you got see to especially for Ellie why their character acted in a certain way. You can see that it wasn't only a love story and that the was a whole other plot in regards to family relationship especially between Ellie and her family as well as her Lupus and how that impacted everything she did.ย

Ellie - oh Ellie you were such a good character. Strong yet vulnerable at the same time, you could see her growth throughout the book and how she wanted to be treated "normally" even with a disability. You could feel the exhaustion and upset from having to deal with others worrying when all she wanted was to be able to grow up as others did.ย

Theo - he was definitely a catch. He thought the sun rose and set on Ellie and I love seeing that from a character. He got her, even when he didn't fully understand her illness and why she couldn't do certain things. He was also sweet when she was ill and wanted to know what he could do to help but felt helpless at the same time.ย

Spice- YESSSS there is some spiced in this book, it is not in your face and went well with how the book was written. The spice was not the main focus of the book the story between Ellie and Theo was and I'm here for that.ย

Overall this was a really cute RomCom read, I was invested in the characters and wanted them to get back together. I loved that there was the small animal facts added in especially when talking about a group of Penguins being called a Waddle. This is definitely one to pick up as we head into Autumn/Winter as it has a subtle Christmas theme as well.ย

Oh my word, this book!!! I was so looking forward to Lindsay Lanza's next book and it DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT. The invisible, energy sucking chronic illness representation (FMC has lupus, not what I ended up having but was tested for it since it is similar symptoms wise) is incredible! The dual POV where we can see there was a miscommunication but the MCs don't realize was actually great as far as building tension (versus some versions of this trope). Theo is an absolute thoughtful sweetheart who adores Ellie and the winter village where he grew up was magical. My fave bit: a description of the kind of cosy love Ellie wanted, which read like a new "can't eat, can't sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff".ย

ย I was lucky enough to be selected as an arc reader for my friend @readwithli for this super cute forced proximity/childhood lovers book!ย
This book was so freaking cute. I love a good childhood friends/lovers trope and Lindsey did such a great job with this! Theo and Ellieโ€™s relationship was so cute. I enjoyed the past/present timeline. I thought the setting was so sweet too. It was nice to read a winter book in the current heatwave (lol). The lupus representation in this story was done so well. The only reason I didnโ€™t give it a full 5 star was because I felt like the reconnection between Ellie and Theo happened a little too quickly. But overall this was such a sweet love story!ย
PLEASE PLEASE read this when it is released on OCTOBER 3rd!ย
