This was a really good book in some ways but I could not get around Sage basically fighting with herself the whole time. I did like the witchy aspects of it and the nature-focused power but I couldn’t quite like her

I really really enjoyed this book. It had almost the perfect blend of all the things that I like witchyness, magical realism a hint of enemies to lovers romance, herbalism, unique magical powers, sibling, cultural identity, relationships, family drama, found family, fighting for what’s right and mystery.

I am obsessed with sages gift and always dreamed that I could cultivate that gift in myself. I really enjoyed the background of the high school history between sage and Tennessee, and how that wove into the present day scenario to add more layers of complexity.

my only complaint is that the spicy scenes were entirely unrealistic

I know I didn’t get far but the characters already seemed immature and just wasn’t gripped. I feel like this is gunning for miscommunication as a driver of plot and I can’t stand that.
