Obviously I know the story. Don’t approve of the author but this was not purchased in any way nor do I plan to ever purchase anything from she who must not be named. I know this is a children’s book technically but I didn’t think it had a lot of depth. I’m sure we’ll get more as the series continues.

1-17-16: This is my, what, 4th reading? 3rd in probably two and a half years? I think I have found a new standard 'go-to' series.

Well, duh. It's Harry Potter (and why haven't I reviewed it before now). I've now read it three times, twice on my own...and once with my daughter. Every time I enjoy it more. Although this is one of the earlier books and the writing is different, aimed more for the younger crowd, it's a fast, enjoyable read and a great intro into a world I like to visit time and again. There are very few books, much less series, that call me to read them time and again...Harry Potter has that unique distinction to be among those permanently, for sure.

While I do reread and re-listen to books, I rarely add an addition audio book session to Goodreads. My youngest daughter and I often listen to parts of this series during drives, running errands, and chore time. This time I heard the book from start to finish over a couple of months but i reheard the whole thing. So, 10 points for Jeffrey, I mean, Gryffindor!

The nostalgia!

This is the first time I’ve pick up the Harry Potter books but oh my god, I felt at home. I dont know if it’s because of the time of year or just how this world makes me feel but it made me very happy.

This one is very much like the film with only some slight differences I thought. But it isn’t a case of wishing you’d read the book first (at least for me) because I do go back to this world so often that I never think I could tire of it.

Though I do have to say the first three films aren’t my favourites because I can find them quite boring so I think reading them will make me enjoy it so much more as I didn’t find this boring to read.

3.5/A charming introduction into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Yes, I live under a rock.

*I do not support J.K.R and it is disgusting of her to use her platform to promote such hateful rhetoric and ideologies. I recommend getting her books from the library or secondhand.

I don't think I need to say anything about this book. In my opinion, it's an instant classic and children will grow up on it for years and years to come. I love stories about witches and I love the Harry Potter series.
