Creepy and suspenseful story about a couple with marriage problems going away for the weekend in a last-ditch attempt to save their relationship. But when they get to their destination, a remote chapel-turned-inn, everything is not as it seems to be. Bumps in the night and strange occurrences add to the tension, along with a mysterious woman who keeps popping up. Overall a good plot with a great twist, but knocked off a star for the inconsistency around Adam's face blindness.

Well well, Miss Alice Feeney!!! I’m impressed! I binged this book in a few hours - the “twist” was impeccably done really really seamlessly written into the story. This is a 5 star chef’s kiss highly recommend kinda thriller - the suspense aspect is great too! Loved it! Next up, Daisy Darker!

Fucking finally! A thriller I was actually super happy, excited and stressed to read! The reason for this is that it was actually written like a book, not like a retarded copy of other "in-right-now" commercial crap, meant to fulfil and satisfy beach and hair salon readers. This book read like literature, it was not impressive in terms of twist (apparently loads of people on goodreads felt like the twists were insane, but I foresaw 2 of them a mile away) but it had heart and very good prose. The povs worked very very well and I love how intentional, well-planned and sketched it feels. I like books written in an intelligent way by authors who plan and prepare, not just clone "The Girl on the Train" or "Gone Girl" ad nauseum.
