I recently learned that this book has been challenged and considered controversial. It's hard to imagine that such a sweet book could bring upon so much disapproval. If anything, I'm glad that it's ruffled some feathers. While the logging industry is necessary, research should be done to make harvesting more sustainable. I've seen ways of doing so, it just takes the drive to stand up for the environment. This is exactly what the lorax is stranding for. It is unreasonable to believe that the need for deforestation will ever go away, but that doesn't mean we should just allow things to continue on the way they have. Dr. Seuess had a knack for hiding deeper messages within his books for those willing to hear him out and take a stand.

It’s a light read for children with lessons about uncontrollable greed and being unkind to the environment around them. A motivational book for children to appreciate and be kind to the Earth

I didn't read "The Lorax" as a child oddly enough, I read a bunch of other Dr. Seuss books, but somehow never this one. After having my son, someone gifted him this book and it is a gem. It seems very apropos to the current state of affairs with the planet and gives the munchkins a good lesson into why they should care about the trees and planet, because even my 5 year old recognizes that the Once-ler is evil.

Incredible! I really didn’t expect to get so much out of this little kids book!! This is fun to read but also has some moving messages about what really matters in life. I think this will become a favourite Dr Seuss book for me
