Having now read this novel and two connected novellas, I can say with confidence that this is the kind of world you want to sink into. If escapism is your thing, these books deliver! And the characters are so loveable that I'm already holding by breath in the hopes of getting books for the rest of the Love family.

Another hit from Lark. I adored Rose and Gideon so much. I feel like I’m picking out all the minor characters I want to star in a Lark book next as I read through (it’s all of them).

Loved Gideon's character and dialogue. Sweet HEA for this series bathhouse witch.

I heard so much about this book on Bookstagam that I had to jump on it! This was supposed to be my hard limit monster romance book, but that's out the window (now it's a book about a shifter who loved a potato). For some reason I assumed that the kraken in this story only had a animal form? Don't know why I thought that...I assure you, reader, that is not the case, haha. Gideon has a human form and it does sound dreamy. He does half shift, though...and it's during the s*x. So, you'll need to be prepared for that. Steam is 4/5 and includes lots of kinky stuff. I did wish the outer plot that was mystery/adventure based was better fleshed out and more integral to the overall storyline, but I appreciated that Lark is trying to work this format in since many authors don't write this way anymore (all the one's I've read have been contemporary and they were all written in the 90s/early 2000s). I immediately went and read her Harpies of a Feather Series after this, so I guess I'm officially on board the fandom train with Lillian Lark.

CW: monster body parts, tentacle s*x, breeder kink, exhibitionist kink, stretching kink (never read this one before!), human trafficking, kidnapping (off page)
