Well yeah I liked it!

It took me quite a bit of time to finish this book, but I quite liked it! What i thought was lowkey annoying was that the book was very long, especially for events that seemed to transpire over a week and a half. I wish that the beginning half of the book moved faster, because it did take a lot of effort to get through.

I do think that character development of Miles and Juneau was done beautifully. It made me feel as though I was beginning to know them personally, as a friend. I loved how Juneau's strength and immovability became vulnerable, but even more potent. i loved how miles went from a stuck up rich kid who didn't know jack shit became a fierce fighter. i loved how their stories gained so much more depth and intrigue.

Overall i'd say that the beginning half of the book really made me contemplate giving up, but I'm glad I stayed, because the ending, action packed and dramatic as it was, really managed to provide the book with appropriate closure and happiness.

This series is just fine for me. I love the premise, but the writing style always feels very detached and I’ve really never cared or been interested in Miles or his story.

I enjoyed this short series. It was surprisingly interesting, but I can’t help but feel a little disappointed. I wanted to know more.

Wish I could have given more stars, but it dragged. I skimmed the last half of it and found myself looking forward to it ending.

Not sure why it went downhill so fast, because it was a cool premise, but it did and I was bummed.

2.5 stars. This wasn't as strong as After the End, and parts of it felt kind of over-the-top. A least it was a quick read.

These are quick & easy reads but a really fun and entertaining story. A little magical, a lot suspenseful with a good amount of action and just a sprinkle of romance. If you're looking for a quick weekend getaway, this 2 part series is a good pick. Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off: Juneau is the key to the mystery surrounding her clans abduction and their ability to commune with the land. Her journey to free her people and rediscover herself (with the help of the most unlikely of companions) is super entertaining, humorous and sincere. I honestly found myself wishing this were a 3 or 4 part series, simply so I could continue her journey.
