A stunning and satisfying conclusion to a fantastic series. This series was heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Regardless of being YA it is beautifully written and has great depth. The world building was both complicated but easy to picture. There was mystery to the very end.

This one I took my time reading. It's not that I didn't like it as much but there are two reasons it took me longer: 1) I knew it was the last book and I didn't want the magic to end, 2) even with series I love if it's longer than 3 books I have difficulty keeping at it aaand these 4 books are pretty big. It seemed like there was less telling and more showing than book 3 which is nice. As always, the world is so full. I love when a book series has such good world building. I was so sad when it ended because even though I know there is a sequel series I know it doesn't follow Raisa and Han and I have fallen in love with their characters over the course of this series. I don't want to let them go. The ending was a good ending though.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and The Crimson Crown was a great ending to it. Raisa gained more maturity with each book. It was nice to see those changes in her character.

There were a couple of things that I would have liked to have seen more resolved. One would be concerning Amon.
SpoilerI would love to see him married and truly happy, and in love with his wife. Maybe I just don't remember, but I don't think we ever find out if he is totally over Raisa or not.
I would love to just have a whole book about Amon so we could find out what happens to him next. I also really wanted to know what was going through his head during this one.

The other thing is I would have liked to see more resolved was the relationship between Raisa and her father. I really wanted more of a reconciliation between them in the end.

I highly recommend this series to YA fantasy readers. I think it's one of the best out there.
