Me ha encantado, pero este libro debe considerarse un anexo a [b:World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War|8908|World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War|Max Brooks|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1386328204s/8908.jpg|817], no un libro autónomo.

This collection works best alongside World War Z, and doesn't really stand on its own, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Closure, Limited is the most interesting of the bunch and an intriguing look at the world after the war. The main character in the story insists the clients know its fake, but do they really? After all, it's made to look and feel as realistic as possible.

The Great Wall story was also interesting, but too short for the main novel so I can see why it was put here.

Steve and Frank was a slower, sadder story but gives a very different glimpse into the zombie apocalypse than a lot of other stories.

The story about nightwalkers was probably the most interesting in terms of worldbuilding and gives yet another fantasy layer to Brooks' world. There's nothing that says it takes place in the same continuity as World War Z, but some of the zombies' distinguishing characteristics are the same, so you could choose to read it that way.

An addition to World War Z this tells more personal stories from survivors. The Closure Limited company is something I could imagine happening in todays society. I didn't enjoy the supernatural The Extinction Parade so much, mixing genres I don't think go well together.

Para completistas de [b:World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War|8908|World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War|Max Brooks|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1386328204s/8908.jpg|817] contiene dos nuevas entrevistas que tampoco aportan demasiado a la narrativa anterior y otras dos historias de zombies no necesariamente relacionadas y en otro estino distinto de la entrevista que tampoco son muy allá aunque la idea detras de una de ellas "The extiction parade" es interesante.

I really wish that these short stories had been included in World War Z proper. The WWZ stories are not all that interesting by themselves, but if you have read WWZ then you will enjoy them and they will feel like familiar territory. They make a good addition to the overall narrative

As for the non-WWZ short stories in this collection, they're fun but definitely a departure from the style. That's not a bad thing, in fact it's refreshing to get different styles of zombie stories from Brooks. Just don't expect every story in this collection to fit with WWZ canon

Absolutely check this one out

I can't believe "Closure Limited and Other Zombie Tales" sat on my shelf for so long. I absolutely love Max Brooks's stories, and this collection is no exception. Each of these stories is unique, gruesome, and engaging. The writing is impeccable and detailed. Brooks writes so realistically and raw that you worry you're in a world of zombies while reading. I recommend all his books.

So these stories were clearly a response to the World War Z movie. And probably hopes for a sequel. Whilst I love any new stories added to the World War Z lore. I did not enjoy most of these. First, the addition of vampires wasn't at all necessary, and took me out. I wish he hadn't done that. I don't know. You can have zombies just existing without all kinds of other supernatural beings as well. It just felt really silly. And then adding the movie lore where the zombies ramp up walls... ugh... I hated that shit in the movie, and it was all throughout this book. It's just an ugly reminder of that shit film. And Brooks could have kept the book separate from that. Really, easily could have. Also, for someone at the level of Max Brooks. I would expect a professional editor, proofreader, and publisher. But I noticed about eight very glaring spelling errors. And two very glaring continuity mistakes. I'm kinda shocked by the lack of care put into these stories. Almost like he just wrote them, and self-published without having anyone else take a look at them first. I liked the great wall story the best out of all of these because it felt like it could have come from World War Z. But the rest were weird, and didn't fit into his narrative style, which left a bad taste in my mouth.

I rather enjoyed this little collection of stories, it pulls inspiration from varied quarters both during and after the events of World War Z and I must admit there is a perverse part of me that really really enjoyed The Extinction Parade, which pulled together my two greatest horror loves, vampires and zombies. This story gives a new little twist to the zombie genre by looking at not just how humanity is desimated but also how this has knock on effects for those who feed on us (were they real...obviously). Thoroughly enjoyable collection that fits beautifully with Brooks' other work and passes a few hours in delightful, zombie filled horror.
