I usually enjoy reading dark romance with the non-con and dub-con content but I had to idea that this book would have it to such a extreme level because the blurb doesn't reveal much. Salvatore was beyond redemption, I mean after some of his backstory was revealed I started to understand him but I couldn't forgive him for the things he did to Chloe. I don't understand how did she even accept him without making him grovel like he deserved to. And the one person who beat her up real bad (from Salvatore's gang) ends up being with her bestfriend. She lets him getaway with a single half-assed apology, that had me raging, NGL. This book was so different than I was expecting it to be which is why I skimmed through some parts of the second half. If you're into these kind of books, go ahead and give it a try but this wasn't my cup of tea tbhemmelnie's review

Capo is definitely a dark read. Luciano is a true sadist, and I had a hard time reconciling what he did to Chloe in Capo with building a lasting relationship. At the end of this book, I was unsure if she was staying with him through her own desires or because she’d been manipulated into believing that there could be no other fate for her. Martin depicts the difficulties and challenges of a mafia lifestyle well, yet the unrelenting grimness of this story left me feeling cold.
I think Martin is a strong writer; there’s no question of her ability. But there was an early section where Chloe voluntarily goes to confront Luciano. Even though she knows from her best friend how terrible Luciano can be, even though she’s been beaten by Luciano’s brother Christian, Chloe blithely marches into the lion’s den without even considering that he might take even further drastic action against her. This frankly made Chloe seem rather dumb to me, and I wished Martin had found another way to drive the plot in the direction she wanted.
At the end of the day, readers have to build a connection to the characters they’re reading about. The darkness of this story, and the lack of true change and evolution in the characters, made that impossible for me to do.

This is the final book in this series and all I can say is Wow. Salvatore is one of a kind. Mean, ruthless and takes no prisoners. Until he does. Chloe's story intertwines with Christian and kerry's . You get to see what was happening the the other members of sal's household. The was never boring, always keeping me on my toes. New twists around corners I didn't expect. It was a truly amazing read. I loved their dynamic, even though luci was a hard man to live with, Chloe managed to bend him to her will, in some ways. A must read, especially if you've read Christian's duet.
