Okay so I loved this book! I adored Laurence and Temeraire, and I can't wait for more relationships to build in the upcoming books, as well as more character introductions and development. My only hang ups, really, were that the book was a bit slow in parts and also a little confusing for my non-war brain to grasp exactly what was happening strategically.
But I can't wait to read eight more books with lovely Laurence! I love how he is chivalrous, shy, and badass all at once. I'm really hoping for some bromance or romance in the upcoming books. There are so many that it has to be in there somewhere, right?? :D

se me ha hecho MUYYY pesado. no pasaba nada, todo eran tecnicas de vuelo y entrenamiento, cuidado de dragon etc… y nada de acción. al final, cuando ha habido acción, ya no me interesaba. lo que mas me ha gustado ha sido la relación entre laurence y temeroso

So glad I started this series, I'm completely in love after only the first installment. The book is set during the Napoleonic Era, only dragons exist and are used in battle for aerial warfare. It was heartwarming seeing the friendship between the main character and his dragon grow throughout the story, and all the action scenes were written incredibly well.

This was a delightful re-imagining of history if Dragon's were real and used in battle against Bonaparte. The relationships between Captain and Dragon were perfectly written.

DAMN I LOVE DRAGONS.
The dragons were so great, so compellingly written I wanted to rub all their noses and sleep in their wings. I loved the drama and the battles. My only meh is Captain Laurence himself - his personality seems to be "polite and easily shocked", which isn't what I expected for a Navy officer who is introduced as loving the finer things in life. I thought he'd be a bit more of a rake.
And lez be real this whole series should be about lady Captains Harcourt and Roland so I'm praying the following books will have more about them.
