Regan Reilly's father is kidnapped, and she has to try to negotiate his release at the same time as trying to comfort her mother who has broken her leg.

It's a good story for Christmas, with the excitement of children looking forward to Christmas, and the importance of family high in the story.

I enjoy these holiday mysteries from the mother/daughter Clark's. The combining of the characters from their individual books makes for an interesting read.

I'm a sucker for Christmas books at the holidays. This one is of the "Home Alone-ish" category -- silly, buffoonish criminals that are good for a few snickers and eye rolls. It was an extremely quick, entertaining read.

A gift from a friend... thanks, Jana. I have never read any of Carol Higgins Clark's books, but I have read Mary Higgins Clark years ago. It was fun to read this holiday mystery.
