Not your typical chicken! Could be fun for storytime with line repetition, but lots of details to pore over for one-on-one.

Cute story. Would be great for STEM activity. The chicken creates a roller coaster and dreams of a space attraction next.

Ana asked her abuela for tickets to an amusement park for her birthday but instead she got a chicken. Her disappointment may not last long, however when she sees what the chicken is planning in their backyard.

Repetition of the title throughout the story emphasizes the narrator's disappointment with her birthday chicken until the chicken builds her dream gift. This is odd all around.

April 2018 - so funny, with really vivid, slightly wacky illustrations.

A birthday present of a chicken started as unwanted gift. As the story progresses the girl discoveres the chicken is a lot of fun than she originally thought. A little on the long side so it would be better as an elementary read aloud.
