5 students sitting in detention, but the end of the day one will be dead.
One of us is Lying was a fast "whodunit" read.
The characters were all so different and each brought something different to the story. This however has been done before, there was nothing new, nothing to make it stand out.
Unfortunately I think this book was easily forgettable.

Yes, I finished this is two days because it was JUST. THAT. GOOD!!!!
I only picked it up because of the show (I was intrigued by the trailer and only saw the first two episodes a year ago) and it was such a good book.
This mystery book kept me on the edge of my seat and made me not want to put my book down. All the main characters are so great and I like how the secrets get unravelled throughout the book.
Honestly, I love this book and am immediately buying the sequel and binging the show. If you’re a fan of mysteries at all, pick this up.

I don’t often write reviews on books, but I had too many mixed feelings about this one. I was so entertained by this debut. The writing was engaging and exciting, and I felt continually pulled into the unfolding drama, waiting for the next big bombshell to drop. But for me, it never did. The plot unfolded in such a linear fashion that I was never given any length of time to mull over the newest twist before it was tentatively resolved and we were on to the next.
Some other thoughts: the characters were so cliche and trope-y that I had a hard time relating to or feeling attached to them. I STRONGLY disliked the way that Cooper’s sexuality was treated as a shocking plot twist. The romance between Bronwyn and Nate felt to me to be forced and unnecessary, and ending the book on this subplot was a little bit disappointing.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book. Kind of. Mostly.

I loved this book it took me 2 months to read even with being busy. The book seems really long but it's not. I liked how the book would change in different perspectives. The book kind of gives it away on how Simon died in the middle of the book and then you end up just reading the rest of the book for the romance. It also leaves you on a cliff hanger. I liked the book so much I got the second one so i'm not left wondering what else happens.
Graphic: Murder, Addiction, Blood, Cursing, Death, Sexual content, Toxic relationship, Alcohol, Suicide, Drug use, Grief, and Suicide attempt
