Wow, what an amazingly twisted collection of stories! A friend lent me this book and I finished it in a night, telling myself after each story that I'd put the book down... then picking it right back up. So good. I'm going to have to re-read his children's books now so I can pick up on the grotesque fun I missed as a kid.

The Best of Roald Dahl by Roald Dahl is a collection of some of his adult short stories. I’ve always always loved Dahl…as a child. I had never come across his adult works until I came across this book and I must say, I really enjoyed them, almost all of them. This is the best collection of short stories anybody could own. Hilarious, shocking, grotesque, and much more, it makes for a great potty read that’ll have you sitting on the toilet for a while.

The short stories were interesting but I realized I'm not a fan of a large book filled with short stories. This was tough to get through but shout out to my train rides for making it happen.

Probably my all-time favorite book (though it's a collection of stories.) Dahl's use of irony coupled with complex structure and technique makes you want to turn back and start again when you've finished.
