Klune’s depiction of ADHD is excellent, made the book a very relatable read despite being a fantasy.

Had a fab time reading this- I was laughing out loud at many points. I did see the big plot twist coming but I enjoyed the process nonetheless. Lots of secondhand embarrassment and fun times.

1. This book was really cop-propaganda. I have never read another YA book that kept on emphasizing “cops bleed blue”.
2. There was soo much repetition in this book. It desperately needed a good edit.
3. The protagonist was really unlikeable. Mainly because he was so clueless and every other character (and reader) could guess the plot before he did.

I never thought I would fall in love with a superhero story, but thankfully Marissa Meyer came along with Renegades and blew me away! So, when I saw this one up show up I knew I had to read it! This is definitely a one-sitting read -- not because it’s super short, but because once you start you will not want to put it down! The Extraordinaries deals with heavy topics while still keeping the story somewhat lighthearted and fun. I cannot wait to read the sequel when it becomes available!

Touching, adorable, great representation both of queer characters and ADHD. This was my first book by T J Klune, and after having heard such positive things about this author he truly lived up to the hype, I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and more of his work… and in true superhero fashion, this first book was left on a delicious cliff hanger.
